WAEANUI TEMPLARS' LODGE The fortnightly meeting of the Wakanui Good Templars* Lodge was held recently. Bro. H. Begg (Chief Templar) presided. It was decided to hold the annuaL concert on October 12. It was reported that the Women's Christian Temperance Union was willing to arrange for the Grand Lodge session to be held at Ashburton at Easter: 1939. N.Z. MOTORISTS IN AUSTRALLA ■" Reciprocal arrangements for New Zealand motorists in Australia work really well, in the experience of Mr H. W. Bullivanlra Christchurch motorist, now on an extended visit to Australia. Wharfage charges were heavy, but the motor associations were most helpful, fie reported, in a letter to Mr J. S. Hawkes, secretary of the Automobile Association, Canterbury. The association's men went so far-as to bring two gallons of petrol to the wharf to help the visiting driver on' his way. Traffic in busy Sydney presents a problem to the New Zealand driver, whom Mr Bullivant advises to spend a day as a pedestrian, watching the operation of the traffic rules.
