AVONDALE WOMEN BEAT

RANGIORA

An inter-club match between the Avondale and Rangiora women's golf clubs was won by Avondale by 8 games to 4. Details (Avondale names first):— Singles—Mrs Stickings lost to MissiMorrish Mrs W. J. Owens lost to Mrs Davis, Miss Maindonald beat Mrs Mac Donald, Mrs Paton beat Mrs Tolmie, Mrs J. Martin beat Miss J. Mac Donald, Mrs Butland lost to Mrs J. Fraser, Mrs Brennan beat Mrs M. Leech, Mrs J. McNish beat Mrs Foursomes—Mrs Stickings and Mrs Owens lost to Miss Mbrrish and Mrs Davis, Miss Maindonald . and Mrs Paton beat Mrs Mac Donald and Mrs Tolmie, Mrs J. Martin and Mrs Butland beat Miss J. Mac Donald and Mrs J. Fraser, Mrs Brennan and Mrs J. McNish beat Mrs M. Leech and Mrs A. C. Fraser.

RANGIORA LADIES' CLUB

Playing splendid golf, Miss M. Morrish beat Mrs G. E. H. Davis, 6 and 4, in the final for the senior women's championship of the Rangiora Ladies' Golf Club yesterday. The match was played over 36 holes. At the end of the first 18 Miss Morrish had a lead of 6 up, her score. for the round being 79 to her opponent's 86. The game was much closer in the afternoon, ending at the thirty-second green.
