PRAYERS FOR PEACE
TO THE EDITOR 0» TH» PRESS. Sir,—We write to suggest that' in view of the present crisis, Sunday, September 18, should be made the occasion for public intercession for the blessing of God on every effort now being made for the preservation of peaca. and that special prayer should be offered for those in "all countries on whom lies the responsibility of making decisions. Let us also pray for forbearance on the part of.those who are engaged in the present controversy, and who find it so difficult to rid themselves of fears and prejudices and to trust one another. In God's will, is our peace, and' the Christian Church united in prayer bears witness to that one Divine Lord who alone can harmonise the desires and longings of the troubled: nations. —Yours, etc., .- _*.''"' CAMPBELL CHRISTCHURCH: JAMES ROBERTSON, Moderator of the Christchurch Presbytery.' CLARENCE EATON,
Chairman of the North Canterbury Methodist District. September 16, 1938.
