to xax editor or rax press. Sir. —As the Prime Minister on several occasions has said, he is up against vested interests, I should just like to know what he means, and what he calls vested interests. I know quite a number of workers who have saved their wages ever since they started earning money as boys 40 years ago. and invested their money in various ways, some in house property in Christchurch and suburbs, others in business concerns, etc. Their object was to provide for their old age, and be able to take life in comfort: and they succeeded. Some I know have property worth £IO,OOO to £15,000 (workers. don’t forget). Now, is this what Mr Savage calls vested interests?
