Authority for all Government expenditure during the current financial year is taken in the Appropriation Bill, which was introduced and passed in the House of , Representatives tonight after consideration of the supplementary estimates had been completed., The total expenditure provided -for' is £53,130,345, with £7,984,909 from credits in aid. i The-bill- also provides indemnity as to ! unauthorised expenditure of £927,997, and.as to. debts irrecoverable of i £282,726. The . usual power .is given 'to make contracts in excess of appropriations.
