WELLINGTON, September 15,
The weather forecast for Canterbury and Marlborough, issued at 5 p.m. by the Meteorological Office, Wellington, and dealing with the 24 hours following the time o- issue, is as follows:
Light to moderate but freshening north-east to northerly winds. Weather fair to fine. Temperatures mild. Seas slight to moderate.
WEST COAST The forecast for the West Coast of the South Island is:—
Moderate but increasing north- , east to northerly winds. Weather clouding over and scattered rains developing.. Temperatures mild. Seas moderate to rather rough.
. DOMINION . The forecast for the .Dominion is:—
Cloudy to overcast in the Auckland Province, with scattered rains elsewhere. Fine at first, but cloud increasing in western districts, and scattered rain developing to-mor-row. Temperatures mild. A deep depression moved rapidly eastward last night, and pressure rose sharply over the Dominion. Conditions are rather disturbed to' the north, however, and a deep depression covers south-eastern Australia.
Winds—Light to moderate and variable at first, but northerlies gradually predominating and later freshening.
Seas (New Zealand waters)— Rather rough on the West Coast of the South Island; elsewhere slight to moderate.
Eastern Tasman Sea—Moderate to strong northerly winds and moderate but rising seas.
CHRISTCHURCH . WEATHER
: Yesterday was fine-and sunny in Christchurch. There was an easterly wind. The temperature was not as high as on Wednesday, the maximum during the day being 56.8 degrees.
At 1 o’clock this morning the sky was cloudy, and there was a strong north-easterly wind. The temperature was 50 degrees, and the barometer was falling at 30.13 Inches.

IN OTHER PEACES
Auckland—Thie weather in the morning was fine and sunny, but it became cloudy in the afternoon. The wnnd was light from the north-west. The maximum temperature was 69 degrees. The barometer was steady, with the reading at 5 p.m. 30.23 inches.
Wellington—The weather was brilliantly fine and clear, with light winds and mild temperatures. The minimum temperature on Wednesday night was 29.1 degrees and the maximum yesterday 62.2 degrees.' At 3 p.m. the temperature was 62.2 degrees and the barometer 32.225 inches.
Dunedii -The sun shone from a cloudless sky yesterday for nearly 10 hours. There was a light variable breeze, however, and. the temperature did not rise above 60 degrees. The barometer rose sharply in the morning and was later steady at 30.15 inches.
