CONTROL OF MEMORIAL HALL
, ——♦ . ~~ Mr W. E. S. Furby presided over a special meeting of the North Beach Gala and* Foreshore Improvement Society, to consider the report of a conference between representatives of the society and the New Brighton Borough Council, and to discuss the control of and alterations to the Peace Memorial Hall. . The chairman reported on the decisions about the control and management of the hall, and the Mayor (Mr E. L. Smith) explained the plan and proposed alterations. It was unanimously decided to approve the conditions of management and .plan of alterations. A resolution was carried: That this meeting of the executive, of the society expresses its appreciation of the manner in which the council has met the society with assistance towards making the Memorial Hall a building of which the citizens of New Brighton can be proud.”
