HANSEN AND FRALEY DRAW AT TIMARU

TIMARU, September 14. Making his final appearance in New Zealand. Hansen wrestled a draw with Fraley to-night in a bout characterised by solid wrestling, though the range of holds was limited. Hansen secured a fall in the fifth round with a body press after a series of flying tackles. Fraley secured the equalising fall In the last round with a flying toehold.

BIG BOUT TO-NIGHT When Pat Fraley and Lofty Blomfield enter the Christchurch wrestling ring to-night the spectators will be able to sit back in expectation of real wrestling. These two men are the outstanding rivals of the season, and the standard of their mat work, as well as their vigour, make contests between them the kind that supporters will gladly go a long way to see. Whatever opposition Blomfield may meet in the course of the season, he is usually secure in the knowledge that, no matter how he may fare, he will still lead the field in his popularity with the sport’s large following. In this respect, however. he has been seriously challenged by Fraley, whose performances have been consistently brilliant and marked by fast aggressiveness. Fraley has taken good care to see that there are no weaknesses in his wrestling.
