HOCKEY
END OF SEASON CELEBRATED “AT HOME” AND PRESENTATION OF TROPHIES To wind up the hockey season an “at home” was held by the Canterbury Hockey Association last evening at the Pioneer Sports Club. Representatives from other sporting bodies attended and were welcomed by the president (Mr C. H. Franklin) before the trophies were presented to the various clubs whose teams had won them during the season. Mr Franklin paid a tribute to the hockey selectors and captains when he bade 'welcome to the visitors. H thanked the Victory Park Po^ d , °i Control for the way in which it naa cared for the needs of the game of hockey, the Football Association thc Rugby Union. the Suburban Cricket Association, and the Pioneer Sports Club, all of which were toasted kindred sports. Mr George King replied for tho Victory Park Board. Mr R. C. Symes for the Pioneer Sports Club and the Rugby Union. Mr A.. Lr. F Ross for the Football Association, and for the Suburban Crmlret Association Mr Arthur Smith. Mr . S J Goodman, president of the New Zealand Hockey Association, replied to tho toast of that body.
