LEPERS AT MAKOGAI

TO THE EDITOB Of THE PRESS. Sir, —I wish to express my deep appreciation to many of your readers for the magnificent response to the appeal made on behalf of the Makogai lepers. Already a sum of £llOO has been received, and many cases of useful goods. I am closing the appeal on November 15, and by that date I am confident that sufficient funds will be in hand to provide each of the 577 patients with at present at Christmas and Easter, and also several occasions throughout the coming year. Particular provision is being made to provide the bedridden patients with little delicacies from time to time.—Yours, etc., P. J. TWOMEY, Honorary Trustee, Makogai Leper Fund.
