REVOCATION OF LETTERS OF NATURALISATION

On the grounds that since the granting of letters of he had been out of New Zealand for seven years, an application was made before Mr Justice Quilliam, in the Supreme Court to-day. to revoke the certificate of naturalisation of Ferdinand Lusich formerly of Awanui, Auckland, and now of Jugoslavia. For the Attorney-General, Mr G. S R. Meredith said that Lusich had not maintained a substantial connexion with His Majesty’s Dominions, as a British . subject, and the continuance of his letters of naturalisation war not considered to the public good Lusich* returned to New Zealand ir September of last year, but" he remained only three weeks in die country. He had been informed of the proceedings being taken and knew o’ the present hearing. His Honour remarked that it was a serious thing to alter a man’s statu? in h ; s absence unless be knew of the hearing. His Honour said he would make hie recommendation in due course.
