LYTTELTON WATER SUPPLY
* ASSISTANCE FROM CHRISTCHURCH SCHEME APPROVED BY CTTT COUNCIL The Lyttelton borough's water supply is to be augmented by the Christchurch City Council from its supply. This decision was reached at a meeting of the Christchurch City Council last night * The works committee reported that a letter had been received from th« Lyttelton Borough Council stating that the council wished to augment the borough's supply, to cope with tho demand during the summer months. It was asked that the water be taken between 9 pjn. and 7 ajn, the dully quantity required being 50,000 gallons. The connexion, if permitted, would have to be made from the Chapman's road pumping station in Woolston. The permission was granted, subject to the/following conditions, the rate 4a be (3d per 1000 gallons:— (1) The Borough Council pays all maintenance and connexion costs, and (2) the connexion is to be installed in' a manner to the absolute approval of the engineer's department, which will supply and install tbeTOeiev
