FAMOUS MARRIAGE RECALLED
> PRINCESS VICTORIA AND ZOUBKOFF FORMER HUSBAND LIVING IN POVERTY (Received March 11, 7.30 p.m.) PARIS, March 11. In spite of shabby clothes and a two days' growth of beard, a French journalist in a Luxembourg cafe recognised Alexander Zoubkoff, who jumped into fame a few years ago by marrying Princess Victoria, of Schaumburg-Lippe. He is now working as a luggage porter. Zoubkoff said: "I once spent £ 15,000 a year. Here I used to give £3 tips. Now I can hardly wait for Fridays, when the theatrical companies move, to help with their luggage. I only manage to get one meal a day. I cannot obtain a permit to live in France, Germany, Belgium, or Italy. They all politely tell me to go somewhere else." (Princess Friederike Amalie Wilhelmine Victoria, of Prussia, was a sister of the former Kaiser (Wilhelm II.) of Germany. She was born in 18C6. and was married to Prince Adolf Wilhelm Victor of Schaumberg-Lippe, who died in 1916. She was married again in 1927 to Alexander Doubkoff, but the marriase was dissolved before her death in 1929.]
