POLICE COMMISSIONER RESIGNS
(Received March 11, 11 p.m.) SYDNEY, March 11. The chief commissioner, Mr W. li. Childs, to-day resigned from the New South Wales police force because of his advancing age. His successor is the metropolitan superintendent, Mr J. W. Mackay, who will take office on March 24.
