LAST MEETING OF EXECUTIVE COUNCIL ;FRESS ASSOCIATION rELEGfIAiI. I WELLINGTON, March 11. The Governor-General (Lord Bledisloe) to-day signed his last papers as president of the Executive Council of New Zealand. As the meeting of the Executive Council was the last one at which his Excellency will be present before his departure for England, opportunity was taken by the Rt. Hen. G. W. Forbes and the Rt. Hon. J. G. Coates to place on record their appreciation of his services as Governor-General, both paying tribute to the outstanding part played by him during his term of office. Lord Bledisloe to-morrow will be the guest of honour at a Parliamentary luncheon. Arrangements have been completed for an official farewell to their Excellencies, when they go on board the Rangitiki on Friday morning. On the wharf will be guards of honour from the naval and military forces, and provision has been made for the public to view the departure from the wharf. HONORARY DOCTORATK CONFERRED a'RESS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.; WELLINGTON, March 11. The University of Edinburgh has decided to confer upon Lord Bledisloe the honorary degree of Doctor of Laws, and his Excellency has accepted an invitation to proceed to Edinburgh on June 28 to receive it. VICE-PRESIDENT OF BIBLE SOCIETY (TKESS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.^ WELLINGTON, March 11. The London Committee of tna British and Foreign Bible Society has asked Lord Bledisloe to become a vice-president of the society. Hi* Excellency has intimated his acceptance.
