PICTURES ON GOOD FRIDAY
♦ NEW BRIGHTON COUNCIL GIVES PERMISSION Provided that the programmes are approved by a committee of the New Brighton Borough Council, talking pictures will be shown at the Joyland Theatre on the evenings of Good Friday, April IJ, and Anzac Day, April 25. The council received at its meeting last evening a request from the management of the theatre that permission be granted for the showing of pictures on these dates; it was decided unanimously, on the motion of Cr. J. Orsborn, to grant permission, provided that the programmas committee of the council approved of the films to be shown.
