NO TRACE OF POISON
VERDICT AT INQUEST " At an inquest into the death of Percy Joseph Harrison, a wool sorter, who died at the Christchurch Public Hospital on February 2, held at the Magistrate's Court yesterday morning, the coroner, Mr E. D. Mosley, returned a verdict that Harrison's death was due to general paralysis of the insane. Chief-Detective W. H. Dunlop appeared for the police. Dr. C. J. C. Brittan, £ssis ant pathologist at the Christchurch Public Hospital, who made a post-mortem examination, reported that in his opinion death was due to general paralysis of the insane and was accompanied by early bronchial pneumonia. Mrs Grace May Harrison, widow « Harrison, of 20 Radnor street, St. Albans, said that at the time of hi* death her husband was 50 years ol age. Before his death he had heen suffering for about three years wita nerve trouble and had not been m good health. At 6 o'clock on Friday. February 2, when she got up. seemed very ill. She made him a cup of tea, but he could not drink it. At 9.30 he began to vomit, and she sen* for Dr. Pullon. When he arrived her husband was unconscious. an ". doctor ordered his removal to hospital. He had never expressed any intention of committing suicide during his illness. . H Detective E. M. Tnomas said he naa r~ade enquiries, and he had no reason to believe the cause of death to oe other than that stated by the authorities. He produced a report from Government Analyst. Mr F. J- - Grigg. which stated that an exaraintion had shown no suggestion w poison. ____________
