TIMARU AIRPORT

DELAY IN GOVERNMENT REPORT Recently the Timaru Borough Council wrote to the Minister for Public Works (the Hon. J. Bitchener) asking that the report which was being prepared on the Timaru airport by the department be expedited. A letter was received by the council at its meeting last night from the Minister stating that every effort was being made to have the report released as early as possible. It would have to be realised, however, that apart from the actual survey considerable technical information had to be gathered from various sources, which could not be done in every case at short notice. | "I can assure you," stated the Min- ; ister, "that your council need have no misgivings that unnecessary delay is taking place, or will take place, in presenting the report."
