GARDEN ALLOTMENTS COMMITTEE

A meeting of the Garden Allotments Committee was held yesterday afternoon. Mr M. J. Barnett presided, and there were also present Messrs H. L. Darton, T. B. Grimley, C. W. Moore, W. W. Scarff. T. D. Lennie, and C. J. Goldstone. The chairman's report on the methods of judging used in making the awards in the committee's vege-tr.ble-growing competition for relief workers was received, and it was decided that the judges' action be approved. On the motion of Mr Searff a hearty vote of thanks was passed with the judges. Mr Barnett was given authority to purchase Cape barley for distribution to relief workers for the growing of green manure. It was decided to ask the Mayor to present the prizes for the gardens competition on Saturday or Saturday week.
