When calls were made for railway labour for the ships in port there was no response, except for the steamer express Wahine, the men declining to start unless one of their number, who, they allege, had received no wor'.: since ho had been in receipt of compensation, war, given employment. A meeting of the Local Disputes Committee was held, and it was decided that the man be engaged. Work on all vessels was commenced at 11 a.m.
