SHARK ATTACKS BATHER
+ Young Man's Death From Injuries BRAVE ATTEMPT AT RESCUE (UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION —By ELECTRIC TELEurtAril— COPYRIGHT.) (Received March 10, 7 p.m.) SYDNEY, March 10. While he was bathing at Marouba beach this afternoon a young man, Ernest McDonald, aged 27, a machinist employed by the "Sun" newspaper, was attacked by a 10-foot shark and died shortly after being rescued. The monster pursued its victim into three feet of water and ripped his thighs and legs in an appalling manner. McDonald leaves a widow and a baby. A youth named William Wright displayed great heroism in rescuing McDonald, whose agonised cries attracted his attention. While Wright was dragging the shark's victim ashore it repeatedly attacked, and once its teeth were within inches of Wright's hand. Apparently it was ravenously hungry.
