When the accused was brought. to tlie police station be admitted that he liaxt had live drink.-. Mr Spiller said this was the first occasion in 22 years that the accused had been in trouble. His motor-cycle was necessary to his business. Counsel suggested that a fine would meet the CDJfG. Accused was fined £8 and ordered to pay costs. His license was cancelled until June 1. In default of payment within 21 days, he was sentenced to one month's imprisonment. IDLE AND DISORDERLY Charged with being idle and disorderly, Eileen Mary Holmes, aged 20. pleaded guilty. It was stated that the accused bad been under the care of the State tor some years, but recently her father had taken her away from the reformAccused was sentenced to three months' imprisonment. Wiiliam Richard Webster, a larni labourer, aged 39, pleaded guilty to a charge of being idle and disorderly It, was stated that the accused had come into town from the country and had spent all his money. Another boy who appeared on two charges of stealing tools valued at 12s was alst) admonished and aisd Three boys, aged 13, 14, and 15 respectively, were admonished and discharged for being in possfcsaion of firearms, and discharging them to the danger of another person. The fiiearms which were air-guns, were oidered to be confiscated. The boys were represented by Mr C. S, Thomas. Mr Young remarked that it was not commonly known that it was an offence .for children under 16 to possess angiitis.
