TECHNICAL COLLEGE CLUB CHAMPIONSHIPS HELD AT 1 HALSWELL The Christcliurch Technical College Amateur Athletic, Cycling, and Harrier Clnb bsld its first cycling championships at Halswell on Saturday. G. R. B. Giles won all senior titles. A two mile wheel race *»' also held and provided a thrilling finish for places, the first three men being picked with difficulty. The track was in good order and large fields contested all events before * good attendance. Results were as follows: — Half-mile Championship—First heat: M. Drake 1, P. Norrell 2. Time, Imin H 3-ssec. Second heat: J. Hogarth 1. W. Green 2. Time, lmin 13 3-ssec. Third heat: G. R. B. Giles 1, N. McCready 2. Time, lmin 11 l-ssec. Final: Giles 1, Drake 2, Norrell 3. Won by half a whe«l. Time, lmin 13 2-ssec. One Mile Championship—G. R. B. Gil»§ 1. W. Green 2. A. J. Green 3. Won by two lengths. Time, 2min 15 l-ssec. One Mile Junior—M. Drake 1, P. Norrtli 2.
