NEW PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH

OPENING CEREMONY TO BE HELD AT W AIM ATE On March 12 the new Presbyterian Church which is now completed will be dedicated and opened by the moderator, the Rev. W. J. Couling, of Geraldine. March 12 also is the anniversary of the laying of the foundation stone o£ the first Knox Church in Waimate some 60 years ago, and of the laying of the foundation stone of the new building 12 months ago. Mr Couling will open the church at 7 p.m. on Monday, and will officiate at the dedication ceremony. A social gathering will be held in the Olympia Hall after the dedication ceremony, to celebrate the opening of the new church as well as the sixtieth anniversary of the first church. Former ministers and members of the church will be present. Working bees have been busy getting the grounds in order for the opening.
