CHANGES IN POLICE FORCE

Detective E. M. Thomas, of the Christchurch Central Office, received notice yesterday morning of transfer to Timaru. He will replace Detective L. Studholme, who will come to Christchurch. Detective Thomas joined the Police Force in Wellington in 1920, and was promoted to detective in 1924. He came to Christchurch several years ago, and is the senior detective on the staff. He has an excellent record in the service, having handled a number of intricate cases with success. He was a member of the bodyguard of police who travelled with the Duke of Gloucester on his tour of New Zealand. Detective Studholme is known as an able and experienced officer, and has been stationed at Timaru for a number of years.
