YACHT'S PACIFIC CRUISE
BISSY GIRL RETURNS TO AUCKLAND (PRESS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.) AUCKLAND, March 8. After cruising for 12 months in Australian waters and the Western Pacific, Captain Victor Brisson, in the ketch-rigged yacht Bissy Girl, has arrived back in Auckland. With him were Mr and Mrs R. Hardley, of Auckland, who joined the yacht at Sydney, and a Polynesian deckhand. The yacht left Auckland on March 3, 1934, for Sydney, and Captain Brisson later cruised among the Melanesian Islands. Captain Brisson left Sydney on January 30 last for Lord Howe Island, where he spent 10 days before coming on to New Zealand. Mr Hardley said they did not have one good sailing breeze. They sighted North Cape a week ago, but an easterly gale sprang up, and they were hove-to well clear of land, for a night and a day. They arrived in port last night, and wefre cleared by the Customs and Health officers this morning. Captain Brisson, who is a Frenchman, berthed the yacht alongside the French schooner yacht La Corrigane. He will probably remain here for a fortnight, but his plans are indefinite.
