WOMEN'S MATCHES NORTH OTAGO TOURNAMENT (SI'BUIAL TO -IHJ! I'HKSS.j OAMARU, March 8. The North Otago women's bowling tournament concluded to-day. The tournament had been exceedingly successful and enjoyable. Record entries were received in all the competitions, and the standard of bowling was very high, especially in the final of the rinks. The singles was won by Mrs Sorley (Awamoa). with Mrs Reid (Phoenix) runner-up. The pairs was won by Mesdames Sparrow and Seddon (St. Clair), who beat Mesdames Curwood and Stickman (Awamoa) in the final. The rinks tourney was won by Mesdames Wallis, Haworth, Hunt, MacLaren (West End, Timaru), who beat Mesdames Richards, Turnbull, Gunn, and Reeves (Waimatc) 30-17 in the final, which, despite the difference in the score, was keenly contested throughout.
