PHILATELIC SOCIETY
A SUCCESSFUL YEAR REVIEWED There was a large attendance at the twenty-fourth annual meeting of the Christchurch Philatelic Society on Thursday evening, over which Mr W. Peers presided. The annual report, which was adopted unanimously, stated that the membership was 10G. Many fine displays had been held during the year, and the society was grateful to the members who had assisted in that direction. The bal-ance-sheet showed a credit of £9B, the sales amounting to £279 17s 6d. The chairman said that the year had been a successful one. The sales, although almost the same as last year, had come from more members, and this was a good augury for the society. Collections were, on the whole, better and more interesting, he paid. The election of officers resulted as follows:—President, Mr S. L. Dacre; vice-president, Mr R. S. W. Owen; honorary secretary, Mr I. D. Wood; assistant honorary secretary, Mr J- A. I Robb: honorary treasurer, Mr S. EusI sell; assistant honorary treasurer, Mr J -T. S. Buchanan; committee, Messrs A. L. Chappell, J. S. Buchanan, E. A. Olivers, and Captain Farthing; literature committee, Messrs S. R. Dacre, J. S. Buchanan, aud A. S. Louisson; honorary auditor, Mr A. G. W. PearEon. '
