I ■ THE WEATHER Yesterday the weathef in Christchurch was considerably cooler than on the few preceding days. There was very little sunshine until the middle of the afternoon, and a moderate to strong north-east breeze for the greater part of the day. The maximum temperature was 62.7 degrees Dunedm—A moderate north-east wind and fine weather were experienced yesterday, with bright sunshine for the greater part of the day. Winds—Between south-east anc north-east, freshening north of Easl Cape; elsewhere moderate, turning more southerly and increasing somewhat in southern districts shortly. Seas (New Zealand waters) Rathei rough to rough north of East Cape; elsewhere smooth to moderate. Eastern Tasman Sea—Variable winds south-east to north-east predominating. Seas smooth to moderate. Weather—Still for the most part fine, j but some rain in the northern and I norlh-eastern portions of the Nortr Island, and a few scattered showers in' the southern portion of the South Island.
