THE OXFORD A. AND P. ASSOCIATION
| MEETING OF COMMITTEE | A meeting of the general committee o£ the Oxford Agricultural and Pastoral Association was held on Thursday afternoon. The president, Mr E. J. Grimsey, presided. A vote of sympathy was passed with Mr J. McGrath, a former president. on the death of his wife, and sympathy was also extended to Mr L. E. Meyers in his illness. Tt: was decided to install a loudspeaker for show day, and for the parade it was decided to have a selection of pipe music. It was reported that the sho\y schedule classes had been provided for entries from the Boys' and Girls' Agricultural Clubs. Hitherto these clubs had been fostered by the Agricultural Department, but during the year they were taken over by the Education Department. A letter was received from Mr 'rown, agricultural instructor, pointing out that he could not give personal attention to entries for the show. In any case there would not be more than an odd entry for calves, and there would be no poultry competition. The committee regretted this, as the association, by its show, had been a stimulus to the clubs, and it. was stated that it would be a pity if the clubs petered out. A resolution was- carried regretting the apparent loss of interest since the change over in the departments. A letter was received from Miss C. j R. Dixon offering a cup for competition in the art section for a watercolour landscape. It was decided to accept the offer and to thank Miss Dixon for her generous gift. Messrs L. D. Adams and John Wolff were elected members of the association. Class stewards were elected for the various sections.
