Henri de Carbuccia ; fought the most serious duel ir France of recent years. M. Carbuccia is editor of the weekly newspaper "Gringoire." M. Carbuccie challenged M. Campinchi, who is a well-known barrister, because oi letters in which he objected tc "Gringoire's" references to him. Shots were exchanged at 30 paces, both missing, which is the customary signal for a reconciliation and kisses. The antagonists, however, insisted on further shots, as a result of which M. Campinchi was severely wounded in the arm, necessitating his being sent to hospital, Before the principals and seconds left the field a police inspector arrived and took the names of all concerned.
