A new school at Katherine Bay, Great Barrier Island, was recently opened by the chairman of the local committee in the presence of a large attendance of parents and settlers. The teacher, Mr Dobbs, referred to the advantage of a full-time school and the necessity of regular attendance to maintain the grade.
