SURF LIFE-SAVING
CANTERBURY ASSOCIATION MEETS The Canterbury Surf Life-Saving Association met last night, Mr A. I. Cottrcll presiding. The holding of a meeting of club delegates, judges, and other interested parties to consider improvements for the association's competitions next season was discussed, arid it was agreed to hold the meeting on March 28, six delegates from each club to be invited to attend. To mark the end of the season, it was decided to hold a dance towards the end of May. Messrs A. T. M. Bolam, K. Herriott, and H. S. Feast were appointed a committee to make the arrangements. The chairman reported that the association's championship pennant had been won by the New Brighton Club with 22 points, the Sumner Club being second with 18 points. It was the fourth occasion on which the New Brighton Club had won the pennant. A donation of 10s 6d was made to the Scottish Society's Pipe Band as an appreciation of its services at the competition meeting at North Beach recently. _____^^____
