FUNERAL
MR F. J. COX The funeral of Mr Frederick J. Cox took place at Sydenham cemetery on Tuesday. The funeral was attended by many friends and relatives. Mr Cox's public activities centred in St. Phillips' Anglican Church, Beckenham, where he served as layman, teacher, and Bible class leader. Other branches of community work also had his active support. The funeral le£t the residence for St. Phillip's Church at 2 p.m., where the service was conducted by the Eevs. E. C. W. Powell and H. Childe. The pallbearers were Messrs T. Eaton, W. Tresize, Vincent, McCalman, J. Averis, Woodbury, Miller, and Tunnicliffe. The service at the graveside was conducted by the Rev. E. C. W. Powell. The chief mourners were Mrs F. J. Cox (widow), Mrs O'Brien (sister), and Miss Hetty Burney. Letters and telegrams were received from all parts of the Domii.ion.
Wreaths and other floral tributes were sent by the St. Saviour's vestry, St. Phillip's Church Committee, St. Phillip's Bible Class, Vicar and Mrs E. C. W. Powell, Mrs O'Brien, Molly and Joan, Het, Jack, Ave, and Alf; Jim, Bessie, Nita, and Eric; Zene, Peg, and Norman; T. McCalman, Quita and Dorothy, Mr and Mrs L. H.
