MOTOR-CAR PARKING
TO TUB EDITOR OV TIIB PRESS. Sir,—May I ask through "The Press" who is responsible for allowing motorcars to park in Gloucester street west (between Cambridge terrace and Montreal street). There is a notice up at each cornel" prohibiting the parking of cars between the hours of 7 p.m. and 7 a.m., but evidently no notice is taken of this and the residents have to suffer in consequence by being awakened at any hour before and often long after midnight, by cars being started, doors slammed, and shouting and shrieking from young men and women who attend dances or other functions in the vicinity. Several of the x'esidents have made complaints at different times, but this is allowed to go on and disturb Ihe whole neighbourhood. Surely there is someone who could look into this matter and allow us to have a reasonable amount of sleep?— Yours, OtC " RESIDENT. March 3, 1935. [Mr H. Macintosh, chief traffic inspector, to whom this letter was referred, said that there had been a nuisance which necessitated the restriction; but so far as he was aware, no more complaints had been made. However, he said, he would look further into the matter, with a view to taking necessary action against offenders.]
