FAREWELL TO TOWN CLERK

PRESENTATION FROM COUNCIL AND STAFF Before the Town Clerk, Mr J. 5. Neville, and Mrs Neville leave on their visit to England they will be the guests of both the city councillors and the council staff at farewell functions. Mr and Mrs Neville will leave Christchurch on March 2! for Sydney, where Ihey will join the Orsova for the voyage to England. On the evening of March 14 they will be the guests of the city council staff at a social gathering in the rooms of the Automobile Association. The Municipal Officers' Association will give the evening, and the whole staff will give both Mr and Mrs Neville the presentation. The presentation to Mr Neville will be made by the City Engineer, Mr A. R. Galbraith, and a woman member of the staff will make the presentation to Mrs Neville. The city council will entertain Mr and Mrs Neville at afternoon tea at 3 p.m. on Monday in the council chambers, and a presentation will be made to each of the guests. Mr and Mrs Neville expect to be back in New Zealand about the middle of December.
