TRANSPORT OF MOUNTAINEERING PARTY BY AEROPLANE.—Five mountaineers were taken by air recently from Franz Josef into the country at the head of the Arawata river by Mr J. C. Mercer, the chief pilot for Air Travel (N.Z.), Ltd. The passengers and 6001b of equipment and provisions were transported in three trips. RIGHT: Ready to leave Franz Josef. From leftj.
