i roc h i The Lyttelton branch of Toe H will open the Stanley Brown Cobbers' Club at the rooms. Norwich quay, this evening. Mr B. J. Graham will again be the club leader. j Harbour Light Theatre "SOS Iceberg," a Universal, which will be presented at the Harbour Light Theatre this afternoon and evening and to-morrow evening, is one of the most extraordinary pictures of the year. It is a thrilling and beautiful drama of the Arctic, a tragic record of sacrifice and daring, and was filmed against a background of snow-capped mountains, glaciers, fog, and icebergs. The cast is headed by Rod La Rocque, Lena Riefenstahl, and Gibson Howland. An attractive programme of short subjects will also be shown. Sailing The Banks Peninsula Cruising Club will hold a sweepstake race from Lyttelton to Holmes' Bay on Saturday afternoon. A sailing race for all classes of centre-board boats will be held by the Canterbury Yacht and Motor Boat Club on Saturday afternoon for the Neville Cups, which will be awarded to the lirst and second boats. Golf At a meeting of the committee of the Lyttelton Golf Club last evening it was decided to postpone the opening of the season indefinitely owing to the course not yet being ready for play, due to the dry season. A general meeting of the club will be held on Wednesday night to consider arrangements for transport for the season. The Diamond Harbour Golf Club will hold its annual meeting on Saturday. •Swimming Yesterday afternoon the president of the Lyttelton Amateur Swimming Club. Mr R. H. Mcllroy, visited St. Joseph's Parish School to present the club's iscroll to the winner, J. Mackle. Mr Mcllroy congratulated the school I on winning the scroll, and said he hoped that further entries would be received for schoolboys' events.
