A visitor to New York recently made the claim that the violet-days of Egypt are of an unparalleled intensity, and that the climate is the most salubrious in the world. In Assuan, where the visitor lived, it has not rained even once in 21 years. Britain's oldest air pilot is 72 years of age. He qualified for his flying certificate on his sixty fifth birthday. The youngest air passenger on record was a four-weeks-old baby, who recently flew from England'to Holland.
