HELP FOR CRIPPLED CHILDREN
TO THE EDITOB OF THE PRESS. Sir,—As an adult cripple, let me add my meed of praise to Mr J, R. McKenzie, Mr C. J. B. Norwood, and our distinguished visitor, Lord Nuffield, for their very handsome donations to the fund established for the welfare of our crippled children. In penning these few lines "I feel what I can ne'er express yet cannot all conceal." There are many people, in fact I would say most people, who, while feeling sympathetic to those of us who are unfortunate in being cripples, have no conception of what it feels like to be crippled. I have spoken to several cripples on this subject and from the information I have been able to gather it appears to me as though we, as cripples, have dual personalities. On the one hand we are just ordinary citizens, and on the other, when it comes to an expression of ourselves ae cripples; we are totally different,
I am more than pleased that Rotary Club members are taking up this just cause on behalf of the crippled children of this country. There are avenues of employment which could be quite well filled by cripples. At, present. one can so round and notice big, strong, and healthy men and women filling positions which could easily he filled by their brothers and sisters who are cripples, not he mistaken in that 1 wonM wish these people |o be discharged in favour of some rrippl'--All 1 nsk is for r-vrry ct'ippl f !ri VP ci'ivr I'm voiirahlc rotisidrral ion wh<--n applying f<> some employer for employment. Any men and women hayt : to fake their share of ft nation's trials, hut what, of the Has he not more than his just share'.'- Yours, et<-., SUB POPMA March -V 1
