«— AEROPLANES TO BE PURCHASED MEETING OF AERO CLUB EXECUTIVE (SPECIAL TO THE PEESS.) BLENHEIM, March 5. - The executive of the Marlborough « Aero Club last evening decided, on the recommendation of the flying committee, to authorise Mr George Bolt, who will leave next week for England, to purchase aeroplanes for Cook Strait Airway, Ltd., and to make enquiries at Home with a view to recommending a suitable machine, to carry a pilot and three passengers with luggage, to provide additional flying facilities for club members. - Opportunity was also taken to say good-bye to Mr W. J. Girling, who will leave next week on a visit to England. Mr Girling, who was granted leave of absence for his tour, remarked that he was looking torward to seeing a great deal of flying whilst in England. Boxing Meeting At the executive meeting of the Marlborough Boxing Association Mr C. T. Smith presided. A motion ot sympathy with the relatives of Dr. P. F. McEvedy was passed. Reference was made by the president to tfie great interest Dr. McEvedy had tasen in the sport. It was decided to try to arrange a tournament for Saturday. March » between Clarrie Rayner and M* Holland, for the lightweight title, a* if possible also to obtain amateurs from H.M.S. Diomede to meet a team of local amateurs for the pretounary bouts. Mr L. C. Cotter was appomtea to referee the main bouts, and Mr i» Leslie as assistant referee. Visit of Bishop The Bishop of Nelson, thei Rt,Re*. W. G. Hilliard. will visit the Arc* deaconry of Marlborough from bw day. March 24. to April 3. BuMP Hilliard will visit Wairau Valley, Grovetown, and Renwick.on Marw 24, and will also be in Renwick on March 25 or 26. h 27 He will visit Havelock on MarchZ< and the Awatere district on Jfcig 28 and 29.
