UK'ITKNEL) .SOLDIERS' ASSOCIATION The monthly meeting of the Women's Auxiliary of the Christchuvch Returned Soldiers' Association, held yesterday, was attended by McsdameiH. T. J. Thacker (chairwoman;, A Templer, A. Morten, J. C. Holmes, W. J. Brown, H. A. Bishop, Miss A. M. Cuthbert, Mesdames J. S. Kelly (honorary secretary). L. H. Powell • assistant honorary secretary), and Miss E. M. Cuthbert < honorary treasurer). It was decided to send a letter ol condolence to Mrs C. J. Treleavcn, a member of the auxiliary, in the death of her sister-in-law. Mr E. F. Willcox, secretary of the Returned Soldiers' Association, wrote thanking members of the auxiliary for assisting at the picnic held on February 23. Arrangements were discussed tor the tennis tournament, in aid of the funds of the auxiliary, to be held on the Eimwood courts on Thursday, March 21. It was reported that the members of the auxiliary would provide afternoon tea for the players, that prizss would be awarded, and that there would be character reading by an expert. The chairwoman expressed the hope that a large number of players would take part in the tournament, as the auxiliary was greatly in need of funds for the approaching winter. She reported that Mrs A. Morten had kindly placed her residence at Mount Pleasant at the disposal of the auxiliary for a bridge party in aid of the funds. Mrs Morten's offer had been accepted, and arrangements for the gathering would be made shortly.
