ROYAL NAVAL VOLUNTEER RESERVE
* ACTIVITIES DURING TITK .MONTH A report of the activities of the Canterbury division of the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve, for the month of February states that on Friday, February 9, a four inch breachloading gun and mounting were delivered to headquarters, and placed on the deck of the drill hall. Since then the gunnery class had mounted it into position, and this work was considered very valuable from an instructional point of view. A class had embarked on board H.M.S. Diomede for H days' training, with a petty officer in charge, on Saturday, February 16. Two voluntary parades had been heJd to prepare a guard of honour for his Excellency fhe GovernorGeneral Lord Bledisloe, at the farewell ceremony at Lyttcltcn on Thursday last.
