EXHIBITION OF THE SWASTIKA
VARYING OPINIONS ON ITS ORIGIN (Received March 3, 9 p.m.) BERLIN, March 2. An exhibition dedicated to the history of the Swastika was opened at Crefeld, at which the use' of the symbol is illustrated with special reference to its supposed connexion with the Nordic race. No room will be found for the opinions of scholars who deny that the Swastika is specifically an Aryan symbol. Ironically, one of the chief German encyclopaedias. published shortly before Herr Hitler won power, states categorically that the Australian aborigines are almost the only race among whom the Swastika is not found. Scorn is cast upon its use by anti-Semitic parties.
