Mr Ramsay Mac Donald has sent a letter to Mr Lloyd George inviting him to submit to the Government the estimates and calculations involved in his ''New Deal," and promising an immediate and careful consideration. The letter refers to Mr Lloyd George's complaints that although the Government promised a careful enquiry he had not yet' been asked to submit plans. Mr Mac Donald explains that Mr Lloyd George, in his speech on January 17, said that he was only outlining ideas which he hoped to develop in a scries of speeches, upon which Mr Neville Chamberlain stated that the plan would be considered when the speeches had been completed. Mr Mac Donald adds: "I am glad to learn from a newspaper article that although your speeches are as yet incomplete, you have worked out a detailed scheme in conjunction with experts, which you are willing to submit to the Government, as the Government will presently be considering proposals for public works and would welcome further suggestions." Mr Lloyd George immediately telephoned' his compliance with the suggestion. He states that he is consulting experts to discover any further additions that might be made in view of the suggestions and criticisms offered since the plan was dr wn up. Mr Mac Donald will get a letter from him either on Saturday- or on Monday. Mr Lloyd George hopes fiat the Cabinet and not merely Government officials will examine his scheme.
