HARE WOOD CIA B Harewood closed its summer season this week-end when closing-day trophies were competed for. A senior and junior medal match was played ovcr 36 holes, and also morning and afternoon medals, both senior and junior concurrently. In the senior event, R. G. Malcolmson and C. L. Crowley tied with scores of 145. The junior event resulted in a win for J. M. Bingham with a total of 132, an excellent score. The senior morning medals resulted in a tie between B. J. Masters and F. Parris, 71. The junior morning medal was won by J. M. Bingham, 89—24—65. The afternoon senior medal was won by R. G. Malcolmson, 81 the junior medal bv L. J. Moorhouse, 90—24—66. Symes, will declare the course open about 9 o'clock, alter which the opening-day matches will be played. A four-ball bogey, mixed or otherwise, will be played in the morning, and a Canadian foursome, mixed or otherwise, in the afternoon. Members arc to arrange their own partners and starting times. Opening-day trophies will be presented about 5 o'clock. AVONDALH (LIB The season at. Avondale was formally opened on Saturday afternoon by the club captain, Mr H. Lighlband. The president, Mr J. Carter, congratulated members on the manner in which the fairways had stood up to the recent drought. Mr Lightbancl drove the first official ball, declaring the links open to a Canadian mixed foursome, in which there was a particularlylarge entry. Competitors generally found the going easy, and the scoring was good. Mrs H. R. Blair and J. L. Blair tied with G. A. Cleland and Miss J. Grange with net 6'9's (par 71).
