TO HELP WORK AT TAKAHE
♦ CONCERT AT ST. JAMES' THEATRE To assist the fund for completing the construction of the Sign of the Takahc, the Stanley McKay "Gaieties of 1935" company and other artists gave a concert in St. James' Theatre last evening. There was a large attendance, and every item was enthusiastically received.
The programme was as follows: — Overture. "March of Sparta," Working Men's Club Orchestra; "Raymond Overture," Wording Men's Club Orchestra; song, "Love Everlasting," Rae Foster; piano item, Frank Perrin and Ike Delavale; duet, Victor Burke and Cecil Perry; sketch, "The Rosary," Fred Argyle and others; monologue, Ted Stanley; song, Nell Fleming; songs, "Pass Every Man" and "Cellar Cool," Charles L. James; song,' Dorothy Arnold; songs, "Humoresque" and "Do You Know My Garden?" Master Warwick Humphries; orchestral, selections, "Invercargill March," Jackson's Band.
