CHRISTCHURCH SAT U R DAY'S TRANSACTIONS There was a moderate turnover on call on Saturday morning, and price levels generally were well maintained. Sales on 'Change I Unlisted Stocks ; 100 Woolworths (Syd.) ord. 411 9 General A late sale of 3i per cent, stock due 1938-52 on March 1 was reported at £lO7. Buyers of 4 per cent. Bonds due 1955 raised their bids to £llO ss. without attracting sellers. National Insurance shares were easier with sellers at 21s lid, buyers at 21s Bd. Sellers of Goldsbrough Morts reduced their limits to 28s Id. New Zealand Guarantee Corporation were steady with dealings at 6s, market closing Id on cither side. Tooths Brewery shares advanced to 48s sd, market closing 48s 3d buyers. 48s 6d sellers. Australian Iron and Steel preference had business at 22s 6d. Broken Hill Proprietary had business at 51s 3d, market closing 3d either way. Dunlop Rubbers were easier with sellers at 18s 9d, buyers at 18s sd. Mining Mahakipawas were a shade easier at 9), d. buyers staying in at that price, sellers at lOd. Mount Lyells advanced to 17s lOd, closing quotations Id on either side. Mount Morgans were tirm at 38s 9d, and more were wanted at 38s 8d: sellers at 38s 10d. Skippers were firm with sellers and business at sd, buyers at 4Ad. Waihis were fractionally firmer at 41s 6d, and there were furiher sellers at 41s 7d. buyers at 41s 2d.
