NEW BRIGHTON ROMAN CATHOLIC SCHOOL

A meeting of the committee ol the recently opened Catholic school, situate in Lonsdale street. New Brighton, was held recently, the Rev. Father O'Regan presiding over a good attendance. It was reported that the roll number was 83. The annual report and balance-sheet were adopted, the members of the committee expressing their satisfaction at. the solid progress being made in the affairs of the school. The total liability in respect to the cost of the building had been £1026 2s lid, and of this sum £259 13s 6d had been raised, leaving a debit balance of £766 19s sd. It was decided to recommence the weekly card evenings held in the schoolroom last winter, and which proved so popular, and a commencement will be made at 8 o'clock on evening next with a flag 500.
