Winds—Moderate to strong east to north-east north of Kawhia and Napier; north-westerlies thence southward through Canterbury, but a southerly change advancing from the far south. Seas (New Zealand waters)— Rough about Cook Strait and Foveaux Strait and north of East Cape; elsewhere moderate. " Eastern Tasman Sea—Variable winds, with moderate south-easterlies predominating; seas moderate. Weather —Mainly fine and warm.
